Olga Faasolo was a force to be reckoned with out of the gates as she collected six points in the first quarter and one steal. When the Penguins are clicking on offense their interior play is usually dominating the game. The East Palo Alto native finished with a double-double going for 12 points and grabbing 11 rebounds.
It looked like the Penguins thrived off Faasolo's hot start as they went on to shoot 50% from the field while holding Chaminade to 23.5% in the first period. Junior
Alaiyah San Juan led all scorers with 12 points in the first half going 4 from 6 from the field. San Juan ended with a game-high 17 points.
Freshman
Adia Walker drew her first career start and brought added energy to the starting lineup. The Nevada posted 13 points on 4 from 7 from the field and she went a perfect 4 for 4 from the charity stripe.
Dominican had 24 points from their bench and sophomore
Keyonee Neal was a big reason dropping 16 points while swiping two steals. Junior
Mikayla Amoroso provided four big buckets late in the second half to extend the Penguins lead to double-digits.
