The Dominican women's basketball team wrapped up the PacWest/CCAA challenge facing off against Sonoma State on Saturday afternoon. The Penguins were able to hang around with the Seawolves, but Sonoma State managed to come out victorious at the end.
Sophomore standout
Keyonee Neal had a strong performance in this one going for 19 points while going 8 for 16 from the field. The Rohnert Park native also swatted one block and hit two three-pointers.
After being shutout in the opener, junior
Mikayla Amoroso bounced back in a big way. Amoroso was second on the team in scoring posting 14 points and terrorized the Seawolves in the paint.
Fellow junior
Alaiyah San Juan paced the second unit for the Penguins hitting two three-pointers while also swiping two steals. Junior
Alex Salise was all over the court for Dominican playing with the second unit collecting seven points on 3 for 5 from the field.
The Penguins will compete in the CSUMB Crossover tournament next week when they face off against San Francisco State Nov. 17 at 5 p.m.
