Tim LaKose was named Dominican head women’s basketball coach on May 7, 2014.

A three-time Coach of the Year, LaKose’s résumé sports over 20 years of collegiate head coaching experience and a 369-194 career mark across all three levels of the NCAA. Nine times, LaKose’s teams won 20 or more games and have participated in 12 post-season tournaments.

Prior to joining Dominican, LaKose spent two seasons at San Jose State University, where he was named 2011-12 WAC Coach of the Year. He led the Spartans, which had won just 13 games in the previous four seasons, to 11 wins and a bid in the WAC Basketball Tournament that season.

Before guiding the Spartans, LaKose spent 10 seasons at the helm of Cal State Bakersfield, where he compiled a 211-89 mark. His teams competed in five NCAA Division II Championship tournaments, one NCAA Division I Independent tournament and two NCAA Division I Women's Basketball Invitationals (WBI). In 2009 and in 2010, he was voted the National Division I Independent Coach of the Year.

LaKose’s first NCAA head coaching position came in 1993 at California Lutheran University. Over eight seasons, Cal Lutheran posted a 136-67 win-loss record, won five conference titles and advanced to four NCAA Division III Championship tournaments. LaKose departed as the Cal Lutheran’s winningest women's basketball coach.

LaKose graduated from Cal State Northridge in 1991 and earned his master's degree from California Lutheran University in 1995. He and his wife, Ann, reside in Marin County with their two daughters.

Allen joined the Dominican women's basketball staff in June 2014. A former player herself, Allen enjoyed an All-NCAA career and went on to play professionally for the Nottingham Wildcats in the England Basketball League (EBL).

Most recently, Allen served as a Student-Athlete Academic Mentor at UCLA, where she was responsible for academic advising, early identification of academic concerns, fostering academic accountability, and monitoring academic and personal transition to a competitive university environment. She earned her BA in Business Administration and Sports Management from Cal State Bakersfield in 2010. She is currently pursuing her Masters in Sports Management from University of San Francisco and is an active member of the WBCA.

The San Diego, California native played her final two seasons under
Tim LaKose while at Cal State Bakersfield. As a senior, she started all 29 contests and averaged 16.6 points and 4.6 assists per game. She was a first team All-NCAA Division I Independent performer that season. Allen played her first two collegiate seasons at Eastern Washington, where she earned honorable mention All–Big Sky Conference honors as a sophomore.

In high school, Allen earned Eastern League MVP honors as a senior at Serra HS in 2005. That season she averaged 20 points, six assists, and five steals per game. Allen garnered San Diego Section All–CIF Division II honors for three consecutive seasons, twice earned Serra’s Defensive MVP award, and was a two–time San Diego County Player of the Week selection.

Allen has also served as a tournament assistant for the Big West Conference and as a supervisor and referee for the YMCA.
