NEWPORT BEACH, Calif. — Dominican University of California men's basketball player
Connor Haysbert has been named the Pacific West Conference Men's Basketball Final Five. The award was for games played Feb. 10-16.
Haysbert helped Dominican extend its winning streak to seven games with two more wins. He averaged 21.0 points and 5.5 rebounds per game, while shooting 69.6 percent (16-of-23) from the field. He had 25 points, eight rebounds, and two blocks at Holy Names.
Additionally, Haysbert has been named to the Capital One Academic All-District NCAA Division II Men's Basketball Team for District 8 (West Region) and was nominated for 2014 Allstate NABC Good Works Team®. Last week, Haysbert was named the HTA PacWest Men's Basketball Player of the Wek.
Dominican hosts Dixie State on Thursday, Feb. 20 at 7:30 p.m. in a battle for second place. That night is a #BLACKOUT, encouraging all fans to wear black as the men's lacrosse team's 2013 WILA Championship banner is unveiled in a pregame ceremony. That is also Ron Powell Tribute Night with all ticket sales benefitting the Roneil Powell Memorial Fund to help support the former Dominican player and coach's family.
