Chambers to participate in NCAA Women Coaches Academy

Dominican Women's Basketball Head Coach Brianna Chambers has been selected to participate in the 2013 NCAA Women Coaches Academy.
SAN RAFAEL, Calif. — Dominican University of California women's basketball Head Coach Brianna Chambers has been selected to participate in the 2013 NCAA Women Coaches Academy being held May 29 - June 2 in Denver.

The NCAA Women Coaches Academy (WCA) began in 2003 with the primary goal of retaining the current women in coaching, while teaching them to mentor new female coaches. The WCA has been the leader in providing the opportunity for women coaches from a variety of sports to network and collaborate to promote their careers while learning strategies and solid program management skills beyond the X's and O's.

"I am honored to have been selected to participate in the NCAA Women Coaches Academy," said Chambers. "I feel very fortunate to have this opportunity to learn, network, and grow as a coach and a person."

The WCA is open to NCAA head and assistant women coaches from all sports and all divisions. There have been 26 academies and with over 1000 graduates representing 17 different sports. The retention rate of WCA grads staying in coaching is close to 85 percent.
