SAN RAFAEL, Calif. — For
Jacob Noisat and
Kayla Valentine, being on the Pacific West Conference Weekly Top 10 Honor Roll is becoming habit forming.
The Dominican University of California basketball players once again have been recognized with the PacWest's weekly honor. Noisat, a 6-foot-8 junior center, made the honor roll for the fifth time this season while Valentine, a 5-6 sophomore guard, is on the list for the third time this season for games they played the week of Jan. 16-22.
The league's weekly Top 10 was announced by the PacWest Media Office in Phoenix today.
Noisat, a product of Elsie Allen High School in Santa Rosa, netted a team-high 16 points on 5-of-9 shooting and grabbed a game-high 11 rebounds in the Penguins' lone game last week versus Chaminade. The junior Humanities major is now 19th in the PacWest in scoring (10.8 ppg), ninth in rebounding (6.5 pg) and seventh in field goal percentage (.518).
Noisat also appeared last Tuesday as a guest on Comcast SportsNet Bay Area's “Chronicle Live.”
Valentine, out of Don Hugo High School in Chino, led the Lady Penguins to a 58-53 victory over Chaminade last Thursday by sparking an 8-0 run late in the game. She scored a game-high 21 points, tying her career-high, on 8-of-16 shooting. The streak-shooting Psychology major is now 16th in the PacWest in scoring with a per game average of 10.1 points.
