PHOENIX, AZ — Dominican University of California sophomore
Jessi Saaty has been named to the Pacific West Conference Softball Weekly Top 10 Honor Roll. The award was announced by the PacWest Media Office in Phoenix, AZ, on Monday, April 5, for games played the week of March 28 to April 4.
Saaty tossed a complete-game, seven-inning shutout versus BYU-Hawaii on March 29. The 5-foot-3 righty allowed just one hit and a 0.43 batting average. The Ridgcrest, Calif. native posted a 0.00 ERA with two strikeouts and walked just one hitter. At the plate, she batted .400 in two starts, going 2-for-5 with a run scored, an RBI, and a sacrifice bunt.
The Lady Penguins next take the field for a doubleheader on Sunday, April 11 when they host Cal State East Bay and look to avenge a pair of earlier losses. The game was previously scheduled for April 6 but was moved to avoid a possible rainout. First pitch on April 11 is set for 12:00 p.m. at McInnis Park in San Rafael.
