Women's Golf Finishes Season with Dominican End-of-Year Invite

FINAL RESULTS

SAN RAFAEL, Calif. — The Dominican University of California women's golf team wrapped up its 2010 spring season with a second place finish at the Dominican End-of-Year Invite against Academy of Art University on Friday at Peacock Gap Golf Club.

Kari Young led Dominican with two rounds of 89 to finish in fifth place on the par-71 course. Gabby Pecora hit a birdie in the first round and had a nice par on the second day of competition. She shaved off 13 strokes from her first round score but finished in ninth place. Ashley Rubin was forced to withdraw on Thursday with a foot injury after the first nine holes of play. As a team, the Lady Penguins scored a combined total of 959 (+391).

Crystal Superal led the Urban Knights with rounds of 80 and 74 to earn medalist honors. Two other AAU players finished the first day with 80 despite heavy winds but saw their scores increase on the second day. Still, AAU finished with a combined score of 649 (+81).
