SAN RAFAEL, Calif. —
Marsha O'Neill, an LPGA Teaching and Club Professional, has been named the head women's and men's golf coach at Dominican University of California, Director of Athletics
Terry Tumey announced.
“Coach O'Neill is no stranger to Marin's golf community,” said Tumey. “We are confident that Marsha will develop and build our golf programs to competitive levels within the Pacific West Conference and NCAA.”
Most recently, O'Neill has served as a golf pro at San Rafael's Peacock Gap Golf Country Club since 2001. From 1993 to 2000, O'Neill worked as a golf pro at McInnis Park Golf Center and in 2000 became a member of the LPGA Teaching and Club Professional Division.
O'Neill spent 20 years teaching physical education at San Rafael High and Terra Linda High Schools. While at San Rafael High, O'Neill also spent time as coach of the women's tennis and basketball teams.
She received her BA and Secondary School Teaching Credential at San Francisco State University.
“Having been in Marin since 1969, I've been aware of the University, first as Dominican College, and now the institution that Dominican is today.” said O'Neill. “I'm very excited to now be a part of the Dominican community and look forward to the opportunity of leading the golf program into NCAA Division II.”
