Seasiders shut out Lady Penguins

Christine Coleman and the Lady Penguins fell to BYU-Hawaii on Thursday.

LAIE, HI — The Dominican University of California women's soccer team fell 3-0 to BYU-Hawaii on Thursday in a Pacific West Conference match. The Penguins (5-8-3/3-5-2) were outpaced by the second-place Seasiders (10-3-0/7-2-0), who outshot Dominican 18-6.

The Seasiders got on the board 31 minutes into play off a shot from a volley.

The Penguins kept things close late into the second half but Seasider goals by Emily Mearns at the 69 and 75 minute put the game out of reach.
 
Keeper Alicia Paulsen recorded three saves and allowed one goal in the first 45 minutes. Jill Rizo played the second half and made five saves while allowing two goals.

The Lady Penguins complete their trip to Hawai'i with a match against Chaminade University on Saturday. Kickoff is slated for 2:00/5:00 p.m. Pacific.
