Dominican men kept quiet by BYU-Hawaii

LAIE, HI — The Dominican University of California men's soccer team suffered a 3-0 loss to BYU-Hawaii on Thursday in Pacific West Conference play.

The Seasiders lit the scoreboard up at the 32 minute on a goal by Jared Trussell. Trussell struck again just before the half to put BYU-Hawaii up 2-0.

A goal at the 89 minute sealed the victory for BYU-Hawaii, who improves to 5-7-1 overall and 4-4-1 in PacWest Play. With the loss, Dominican falls to 6-9-1 overall and 3-6-1 in conference matches.

The Penguins were outshot 15-8 by the Seasiders but managed to match BYU-H by placing five shots on goal.

Matthew Carlson allowed two goals and made two saves in 83 minutes of play. Alexander Bolt allowed the final goal.

The Dominican men conclude their trip to Hawai'i on Saturday with a 4:30/7:30 p.m. Pacific match at Chaminade University.
