Brown and Paulsen earn Women's Soccer Honors

PHOENIX, AZ — The women's soccer Weekly Top 10 honor was announced by the Pacific West Conference Media Office on Monday, Oct. 19, for games played Oct. 12-18.
Katie Brown registered three points during the week on a goal and an assist. The sophomore defender scored a goal in Dominican's 2-0 win over Academy of Art on Oct. 17. She assisted on the Lady Penguins’ lone goal in 1-1 draw with University of Hawai‘i at Hilo on Oct. 14.
Alicia Paulsen posted a 1-1-1 record during the week in three conference games. The junior keeper lost a tough 1-0 decision vs. BYU-Hawaii on Oct. 12. Paulsen held the University of Hawai‘i at Hilo to a 1-1 double-overtime draw on Oct. 14. The Santa Rosa native defeated Academy of Art 2-0 on Oct. 17. She produced an .867 save percentage and a 0.62 goals against average in 290 minutes of action.
The Dominican women are 5-7-3 overall and are 3-4-2 in PacWest play, good for fifth place. The Lady Penguins travel to BYU-Hawaii in the second round of conference play on Oct. 22. Kickoff is slated for 10:00 a.m./1:00 p.m. Pacific.
