SAN RAFAEL, Calif. —
Mike Wells, a 6-foot, 185-pound junior guard for Dominican University of California’s men’s basketball team, averages less than two points a game and played only eight minutes and scored only two points in the Penguins’ 82-62 Pacific West Conference win over Academy of Art of San Francisco on Saturday night but he was a tough act to follow on Friday night. Ned Webster have announced the
schedule and
roster for the spring 2010 season. As a University, Dominican is transitioning from NAIA Division II to NCAA Division II. The 2010 schedule marks the first full NCAA Division II lineup for the Dominican lacrosse program.

PHOENIX, AZ — The Dominican University of California finished the 2009 season with a loss to Grand Canyon University in the second day of the Baggataway Cup. Grand Canyon outpaced the Penguins, scoring four goals in the first, third, and final quarter, and five goals in the third quarter. Dominican scored a goal in each of the first three quarters and finally found their rhythm in the final period, scoring six goals. With the loss, Dominican finishes the regular season with a 6-9 record. Grand Canyon improves to 3-12.

PHOENIX, AZ — Freshman
Reed Upson led all players with five goals for the Dominican University of California men’s lacrosse team on Saturday but it wasn’t enough as the Penguins fell 20-8 to Westminster College in the first round of the Baggataway Cup. The Penguins were outscored 5-1 in the first quarter, 5-3 in the second quarter, 6-4 in the third quarter, and shutout 4-0 in the fourth quarter. Junior captain
Lawrence Nardi, continued to pace the offense with five assists and a goal of his own. Sophomore captain
Emmett Faricy and freshman
Matt Polizzi rounded out the scoring for Dominican with one goal apiece. Freshman
