Jennifer Rogers Fernandez, retired jersey No. 5 (Feb. 10, 1996), led the Dominican women’s basketball team to success from 1991 to 1995. She was the 1994 California Coastal Conference MVP and made the All-America Basketball Team in 1994 and 1995. She held the all-time basketball scoring record with 1,487 points until 2006 — when it was surpassed by co-honoree David Moore. Fernandez's record stood for 15 years on the women's side and she is the second all-time scoring leader for women’s basketball. Rogers Fernandez holds numerous other records, including: scoring average (18.8 points, minimum 30 games), field goal percentage (.528, 652/1,234, minimum 150 fg), and steals (234). Rogers' records of field goals made and attempted (652/1,234) and free throws made and attempted (186/287) were broken in 2010 by Alisha Flaaten.
Fernandez graduated from Dominican in 1996 with a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.
