SAN RAFAEL, Calif. — The Dominican University of California women's volleyball team defeated UC Santa Cruz in four sets on Tuesday night in non-conference action, 25-13, 22-25, 25-15, and 25-19.

The Lady Penguins breezed through set one, thanks in part to the strong service of Cayla Morphew that helped build an early 4-0 lead. Dominican held control the entire set and cruised to the 25-13 win.

The Penguins (7-10-1/4-7-1) and Argos (9-9-1/9-2-1) each had three shots on goals but the Argos connected on all three to come away with the victory.

The Lady Penguins (7-8-3/5-5-2) looked to be staring at their second loss at the hands of the Argos (6-10-1/6-5-1) when NDNU jumped out to a 2-0 lead within the first ten minutes of play.
